Angela D. Moore
Superintendent and Principal
Angela Moore is an experienced, successful administrator who has led her district from low performance on standardized exams to maintaining consistent growth achievement, holding a status of Universal Support according to State performance indicators. Beginning the School Improvement Planning process with leading the staff through the change theory and onward to adoption and implementation of research-based reform models, Angela, has a compassion and commitment to managing the education of children with sincerity. Her philosophy model for educating children is for all to experience success and growth. With staff, she believes in leading by example, thus often working along-side employees to reach the goals set before them, is where you’ll find her.
Principal Moore served as the Assistant Executive Administrator of Commonwealth Community Development Academy for 19 years before being appointed by the Board of Directors to the position of Superintendent/Principal in 2016. She continues to serve in this capacity.
Principal Moore has been afforded numerous leadership opportunities and responsibilities including: monitoring instructional implementation of curriculum components, and planning professional development sessions relative to the professional growth of each individual staff member, while targeting the School Improvement goals of the district. She has also served as the Title I Director, Testing Coordinator, and the Math and Writing Coach. Angela coaches her staff to take ownership of their instructional outcomes by completing their own data analysis and using that information to chart their next steps, and includes the goals and data in their Annual Education Report.
Principal Moore desires for Commonwealth Academy to remain a beacon in the community, for families to rely on to develop not just academically, but socially and professionally.
